It could be fair to say that this is one of the sleeper models of the DUCATI line offered at around $10,500. My test bike, courtesy of Cliff’s Cycle Revolution in Brookfield, CT presented an additional $1500 in accessories or 60-months of extended warranty or $1000 Cliff’s Bucks (redeemable for parts and accessories) at Cliff’s of course. Set your GT up with the touring saddlebags and windshield or sport it up with the Ducati Performance Termignoni Exhaust. Or get something for your other Ducati in the garage! Point being, ownership incentives for the GT1000 are sweeter than strawberry gelato. Oh, and 7500-mile service intervals and over 50-miles per gallon. Where do I sign?

Given the price and incentives for this 1000cc DUCATI, it is a great multi-purpose motorcycle for the one-stable owner. In many ways, the GT1000 covers the widest range of possible owners and ages – from a seasoned mid-school rider like-myself who remembers lacing-up chrome rims from the late-70’s dirt-bikes and BMW-twin era, to the old-school rider wanting a true retro look in a modern package. I also grabbed my two young friends Kye Maria and cutie patutie girlfriend Christina Clark for a few photos having the instinct that this bike could very well serve new, younger riders with wheels to motor through their college years without carrying the burdensome persona and pretense that so many bikes these days convey from a mile away.
